This is about opening books and the "learn from database" option in Fritz/Chessbase.

If I made an empty book, and added 1 game ("import from database"). Do I need to also do "learn from database" so that that line is now played more often? I'm trying to decide if I should import a game (step 1), AND "learn from database" (Step 2), for that same game.

44.... Rg2 (green colour, a tournament course), 1/2-1/2
44.... Bg1 + (red colour, not tournament course), 1-0
Mybook18.3 play 44... Bg1 +??? (44... Rg2!, draw). Plays Rybka3. The course is made not under the book. Because superfluous training by base of games has affected the book. Because of it (superfluous training by base of games) I have lost many points in Sedatchess and Pionerchess. I recommend to dump weight in the book.

You said you only do hand tuning for MyBook? So each version you release (MyBook 20, MyBook20.1) only include changes you made by hand? You don't ever start over with a new book?
