First of all I must thank the autors of Antimaster & MyBook for they consistency efforts in bringing better book for chess engines.
I like this thread to be for sharing experiences & software to make better books
Hope all of you will partecipate.

Since 2001 (the opening of Playchess) I  n battling to make decent opening books for the engines, for personal reason I have to interrupt the quest from late 2006 till few months ago.
The main problem I had with Chessbase software was that if you started to play around with the move in the books all sorts of unwanted lines would start to appear. As well with the making of books from games, just some time some strange lines comes up, like following the book on a 35 moves mate loss......
does any of you book makers use some different software to make the books? |

Hi, piko! I play Engine Room in 2004 year. I use Chessbase9 (send GM Norival) and Fritz GUI for making book. Regards.
P.S. Piko, if you have 200 posts in myforun = you have serial number for playchess. OK? |

thank you for letting me know that, i will try to get to 200, hopefullly the discussion will be interesting.
as per cb9 I do not have it I had a cb8 but got loss in the move from england to italy, i was hoping someone know a free program to produce books fo engines.....

I had a quick look at it but it seems just a variations of fritz interface, I was hoping to find a software which was able to show more than just the current move, like 10-20 moves of the tree |

thx , i will take another look at F10, I must say that today I did a bit of work with F9 as you could still add games to database, later not anymore, I must say that sometime chessbase does not help a lot users taking away nice sub-program just to sell more programs, cb8,9,10 etc.... |
